Classics by Night: Delftse Poort
The iconic glass towers of the Delftse Poort can be seen from far and wide. On the 19th floor, you can be amazed by the original competition models. In 1986, five architects submitted a design for the competition for the headquarters of Nationale Nederlanden. Architects Coenen, Quist, Kraaijvanger, Van Mourik and Bonnema came up with a variety of designs. A green facade with flagpoles on top or a sleek grey façade were among the possibilities. While enjoying the beautiful view of the city, illustrator Karida Bochove draws on the windows; buildings that have already disappeared, imaginative plans ánd towers that will soon enrich the skyline. A unique perspective on an ever-changing city.
