The Erasmiaans Gymnasium is one of the oldest schools of The Netherlands and exists since the fourteenth century! Until 1937, the school stood on a different location, which is now the Coolsingel. Ever since it has been located on the Wytemaweg, opposite the Erasmus Medical Center. The building is designed by city architect Ad van der Steur, who also designed the familiar building of the Boijmans Museum. In 1995 and 2003 new rooms where added.
