27 May 2019

The Chabot Museum (1938) and the Van Nelle Factory (1930) are closely related to the Bauhaus which celebrates this year its hundredth anniversary. Combine these pearls of the Nieuwe Bouwen movement: take a tour through the Van Nelle Factory (UNESCO World Heritage) with a guide from UrbanGuides and visit the Chabot Museum, inclusive gratis bus transport between the two sites. Be sure to book your ticket in advance here.

Lovers of architecture, art and industrial heritage will be delighted with a visit to the Chabot Museum (1938) and a tour of the Van Nelle factory (1930). In an one-hour tour through the factory you will learn everything about the architecture, recent renovations, historical background, production processes and the principle of light, air and space. In the Chabot Museum you will experience the special combination of art and modernist architecture. Before the tour, it is highly recommended to watch the film Building for the Light (about 20 minutes), about the construction of the Van Nelle factory, in the basement of the Chabot House.
