Jobsveem: Modern living in a monumental warehouse

Ossip van Duivenbode

Mei architects and planners transformed the former warehouse and national monument Jobsveem into impressive lofts. The characteristic elements of the warehouse have been preserved, with attention to the quality of living for the residents. For instance, the closed character has been broken up with three glass atriums that also house the stairwells. These lively, bright spaces provide nice views and places where residents meet. This spaciousness is also reflected in the lofts: the flats have a free layout and a wide city views from the terraces on the Lloydpier.

On the Day and Night of Architecture, you can admire Jobsveem from the inside with a tour and home visit. The residents of the loft have lived here since day 1 and have seen the area change from old port to pleasant living and working area over the past 17 years.
