FORUM Rotterdam

Right in the centre you can find Forum Rotterdam: a block of distinctive subprojects redeveloped in recent years by OMA and WDJArchitecten. The national monument on Coolsingel, the former Rotterdamsche Bank, now houses Donner bookshop: the largest bookstore in the Netherlands. The shop fronts along Lijnbaan have been future-proofed while respecting the original design. The biggest transformation is that of the large 1970s office tower into a residential complex with recognisable white round balconies. During the tour, we visit the ensemble and take a look in the lobby of the residential complex. An architecture guide talks about the transformations through time, with a special focus on the post-65 architecture and aesthetics.
